An Overserved Oscar Preview for 2022

Fair warning:  This episode goes heavy on the vino.  We indulged in a few too many glasses before we sat down for this Oscar preview, and things get a little goofy.  I'll be honest, this one was a challenge to edit.  Still,

City of Angels (1998)

We conclude our Valentine's Day/Date Movie series with City of Angels.  It's definitely the oddest and most cerebral of this month's offerings.  On the plus side, it does have a bitchin' soundtrack, with lots of killer 90s vibes. - For vino,

Long Shot (2019)

This week's episode continues our February date movie spectacular.  We take a good look at Long Shot, a 2019 rom-com that stars Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron.  It's a flip of My Fair Lady/Pygmalion/She's All That, with Rogen as the frumpy swan.

As Good as It Gets (1997)

With this episode, we kick off our Valentine's Month of date movies.  As Good as It Gets is an odd hybrid of rom-com, character study, and conventional drama that examines a few themes that were (for 1997) ahead of their time.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye, Marvel's latest series on Disney+, was a surprisingly strong take on the Avengers' weakest link.  Too often, heavy-hitters like Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America take center-stage, while Clint Barton ends up as a supporting player.

Guilty Pleasure Movies (The Brian Dennehy Special)

With that in mind, this week Trav and I go over our guilty pleasure movies. To pair with it, I came up with a decadent concoction called Chocolate Sangria. To make it, start with two parts Chocovine–a cordial-type blend of red wine and milk chocolate–and dump in a shot of Pinnacle Whipped Vodka.
