This atmospheric thriller features Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowski, and Jessica Chastain. It's set in Victorian England, so the visuals are absolutely incredible. Welcome! Our Halloween Series continues with Over the Garden Wall. I had never seen it, and knew nothing about it. That makes this episode a pleasant surprise. Patrick McHale's animated gem is a Halloween cult classic. It's whimsical, eccentric, and endearingly funny. Plus, it's not terribly scary--call it a soft PG. That means kids as young as 8ish could enjoy it as well. Hopefully you'll check it out before Halloween, before it goes away on Hulu!

It's a fine line between fun and obnoxious, but Craven and writer Kevin Williamson straddle it pretty well. For our first two episodes, we'll enjoy some bold red wines. The film starts normally, but as Pacino’s bank robbery turns into a lengthy standoff, the characters look absolutely miserable. Sidney Lumet’s dramedy is a landmark of the 70s, and endures as a classic to this day. To pair, we’ll enjoy a warm weather white wine.
